Camel Group attended the China Xiangyang-Germany Dusseldorf Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference.

On June 5, 2023, the China Xiangyang-Germany Duesseldorf Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference hosted by The German-Chinese Business Association (DCW) was successfully held in Duesseldorf, Germany. This was the first time that Xiangyang City held an economic and trade cooperation promotion conference in Germany. Wang Qiyang, member of the Provincial Standing Committee and Secretary of the Xiangyang Municipal Party Committee, attended and spoke at the conference. Du Chunguo, Chinese Consul General in Dusseldorf, Fu Qiang, Head of the North Rhine-Westphalia International Business Bureau of Greater China, and Bai Xike, Secretary-General of the German-Chinese Economic Association, delivered speeches. Huang Jin, member of the Xiangyang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary-General of the Xiangyang Municipal Government, introduced the economic and social development of Xiangyang, and Xiao Yong, Vice Chairman of the Xiangyang Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee and Party Secretary of the Dongjin New Area Management Committee, attended the promotion conference. Liu Changlai, the Chairman of Camel Group and Zhang Bo, the Operation Director of Camel Energy GmbH (Germany) attended the meeting as corporate representatives and introduced the company's situation, achievements in overseas markets and future plans.

Wang Qiyang, member of the Provincial Standing Committee and Secretary of the Xiangyang Municipal Party Committee pointed out that in the past ten years, Xiangyang has adhered to internal development and external cooperation, two-way opening up, and deeply integrated into the construction of the "Belt and Road" and the value chain division of the global industrial chain. In 2022, the economic aggregate reached ¥582.8 billion yuan, ranking 45th among cities in China. Currently, Xiangyang is accelerating the high-quality development of the Xiangyang metropolitan area and vigorously developing six advantageous industries, including new energy vehicles, new energy materials, resource comprehensive utilization, aviation and aerospace, rail transportation, and consumer electronics. Xiangyang and Germany have a deep foundation for exchanges and broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of automobile industry, digital economy, vocational education, biomedicine, technological innovation, and personnel exchanges.

Du Chunguo, Chinese Consul General in Dusseldorf, pointed out that 2023 is the starting point for a new 50-year period of Sino-German relations. Practical cooperation between localities is the inexhaustible driving force for the development of Sino-German relations. Xiangyang has a profound cultural heritage, prominent strategic position, solid industrial foundation, and excellent development environment. It has a good foundation for cooperation with German companies. He hopes that both sides can take this promotion conference as an opportunity to make new progress in economic and trade cooperation. Fu Qiang and Bai Xike said in their speeches that Xiangyang has a good industrial foundation and an excellent investment environment, and there is great potential for deepening cooperation between the two sides, and they are full of confidence in promoting innovation and opening up new areas of cooperation.

The participating representatives appreciated China's economic recovery after the epidemic and the business environment in Xiangyang. They expressed their willingness to focus on promoting Xiangyang to German companies, actively participate in the transformation and development of Xiangyang's automobile industry, and promote the development of Xiangyang's automobile and parts manufacturing industry. They also strive to jointly create a better future for deepening economic and trade cooperation.
