On July 5th, the 2022 National Environmental Management Training Course on Centralized Collection and Cross-regional Transfer of Waste Lead-acid Batteries was held in Xiangyang, Hubei. More than 200 guests and trainees, including lead-acid battery manufacturers, waste-lead battery producers, recycled lead-acid enterprises and others from all over the country collected waste lead-acid batteries including units that utilize and dispose of environmental licenses, relevant industry associations, scientific research institutes, technical research institutions, and industry alliances, participated in the training course.
The training course was jointly organized by the Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Technology Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China Renewable Resources Recycling Association and Camel Group Co., Ltd.
During the one-and-a-half-day training, experts from China Academy of Environmental Sciences, China Battery Industry Association, provincial and municipal ecological environment authorities, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, key lead-acid battery enterprises and other units brought a series of wonderful lectures, covering Amendment of the new Solid Waste Law and interpretation of hazardous waste environmental management system, lead-acid battery life cycle environmental risk assessment, interpretation of the new value-added tax policy for comprehensive utilization of resources in 2022, introduction to the pilot work of waste lead-acid battery collection in advanced provinces, and implementation of producer responsibility extension system.
On the afternoon of the 5th, Yin Tianqiang, the head of the Recycling Department of Camel Group, brought a work sharing on the implementation of the extended producer responsibility system by lead-acid battery manufacturers. Yin Tianqiang said in the report Camel Group realized the information traceability and supervision of lead-acid battery from production, warehousing, logistics and transportation, sales, recycling and processing and utilization through the self-developed professional system, the Unida system, logistics, and capital flow were integrated, and "purchasing and sales integration" was realized by means of information technology.
Camel Group has made effective attempts to standardize the waste battery recycling system and create an overall solution for the production, collection, storage, transfer and disposal of waste lead-acid batteries. It has realized green intelligent manufacturing, green recycling, green transfer and green disposal, leading the lead-acid battery industry to the green, circular and sustainable development.
Camel Group actively responded to the action plan for waste lead-acid battery pollution prevention and control jointly issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and other nine ministries and commissions, participated in pilot work in 13 provinces and two municipalities across the country, and built 2,351 recycling outlets and 98 centralized transfer points.
On the morning of the 6th, Gao Guoxing, general manager of Camel Group Research Institute, brought Camel Group's lead recycling technology sharing, and introduced the company's existing lead-containing material processing technology.
This training course provided a platform for exchange and experience sharing for the lead-acid battery industry, and provided participants with practical and useful information on the latest policies, industry trends, technical theories, practical experience, and informatization construction of lead-acid battery recycling and utilization. It has played a good guiding role in promoting the establishment of a standardized and orderly waste lead-acid battery collection and treatment system in the next step, and accurately preventing and controlling the environmental risks of waste lead-acid batteries.
